Ghanaian-based pharmaceutical company, mPharma is looking to address what it says is a potential drug supply shortage and price increase due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
The company has launched a price control program for chronic patients dubbed "Mutti Keep My Price."
This comes in the face of ongoing disruptions in the drug supply chains globally with countries like India imposing export restrictions on 26 essential drugs.
In Ghana, there are growing concerns about the possible shortage of medicines and the high price increase in some essential medical supplies such as the high cost of hand sanitisers.
The company said the 'Mutti Keep My Price' program will help patients on chronic medications to, for instance, choose between a three month and six-month price control plan.
mPharma improves the accessibility and affordability of medicines by providing innovative financing and inventory management solutions to hospitals, pharmacies, and patients.
The pharmaceutical company achieves lower prices by aggregating and predicting demand across its network of providers.
mPharma says the price of its covered medication will not change irrespective of what happens in the market during the duration of the plan.
Mutti Keep My Price is free to enrol in. Interested persons can call the Mutti helpline on 055 813 4375 or 024 841 0050 to learn more about the service and how they can enroll.
