MTN Ghana has once again demonstrated its commitment to touching lives and supporting communities through the continuation of its annual “Spreading Y’ello Cheer to Our Christmas Babies” initiative—a heart-warming tradition that celebrates babies born on Christmas Day and the courageous mothers who bring them into the world.
On Thursday, 26 December 2025, MTN Ghana extended this gesture of love to the Savannah Region, donating a total of 30 baby hampers to Salaga Hospital and St Anne Catholic Hospital in the East and West Gonja Municipalities, respectively.

The hampers, carefully prepared with essential baby and maternal care items, were presented to mothers who delivered on Christmas Day, bringing smiles, hope, and relief during the festive season.
Some of the donations were also extended to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St Anne Catholic Hospital, as part of MTN Ghana’s nationwide Christmas Babies initiative, which is being implemented across all 16 regions of Ghana. This year’s campaign will see 700 baby hampers distributed to selected hospitals nationwide, including teaching hospitals, regional hospitals, municipal hospitals, and faith-based health facilities.

Now in its 14th consecutive year, the Christmas Babies initiative has become one of MTN Ghana’s most cherished corporate social responsibility programmes. Beyond the festive celebrations, the initiative reflects MTN’s belief that Christmas is about compassion, generosity, and standing with communities at moments that matter most.

Across the country, hospitals in Greater Accra, Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Northern, North East, Upper East, Upper West, Western, Western North, Central, Eastern, Volta, Oti, and Savannah regions are benefiting from this year’s exercise. Beneficiary facilities include Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Ho Teaching Hospital, and several regional and municipal hospitals.

Through the initiative, MTN Ghana reaffirmed its commitment to supporting maternal and child health while strengthening its bond with communities nationwide. The company also encouraged its staff and volunteers, known as Y’ello Doers, to actively participate in the distribution exercise, allowing them to experience firsthand the joy and impact of giving back.

Beneficiary mothers at Salaga Hospital and St Anne Catholic Hospital expressed heartfelt appreciation to MTN Ghana for the timely donation, noting that the hampers would significantly support them and their newborns during the early stages of motherhood.

As MTN Ghana continues to expand its footprint across the country, initiatives such as the Christmas Babies donation remain a testament to the company’s dedication to making a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of Ghanaians, especially during seasons of love, hope, and togetherness.
