Former Sports Minister in the previous National Democratic Government, Mr. E.T. Mensah says the current sports minister has himself to blame for his predicament.
He said Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak’s explanation that he has been misled into financial impropriety is an untenable argument.
Mr Mensah also rejected suggestions that there is mafia group at the Sports Ministry that sets up ministers who fail to ‘go along’.
Sports Minister Alhaji Mubarak has been cited for financial impropriety involving outrageous claims.
He explained he had been misled into making some of the claims.
But Mr. ET Mensah rejected the claims saying he simply violated rules and regulations at the ministry.
“Where ever you move to as the head, the first thing is to appreciate that people have traveled that road before and what you need to do is be humble, to learn from the people and also work within the rules and regulations,” he told Joy News.
The Ningo/Prampram Member of Parliament said he couldn’t imagine one could be set up if one worked within the rules and regulations pertaining to the ministry.
