The maiden edition of the Multi TV Auto Show held at the International Trade Fair Centre here in Accra has ended with partners and exhibitors expressing their satisfaction and delight at the outcome of the show. The 4-day show, organised by MultiTV created a platform for stakeholders in the automobile sector i.e. automotive dealers, auto financing companies, customers and prospective customers to interact.
The MultiTV Auto Show brought together several brands of vehicles and thousands of patrons visiting over the four days period. According to some of the partners and exhibitors at the show, the organization and patronage exceeded their expectations. Mrs Patricia Ohene-Nyako, a representative of Toyota Ghana Company limited, said they had the opportunity to showcase their range of vehicles to the public and also answer various questions on payment terms and financing options available to prospective customers. In a related response, Mr Herbert Aidoo, Head of Vehicle and Asset Finance at Stanbic Bank said “with respect to the average Ghanaian, though the decision to buy a brand new Vehicle takes some time, with various financing options available to the patrons at the auto show, they were able to generate a number of leads with some even making commitment to buy their cars at the Auto show”.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the MultiTV Auto Show in Accra on Sunday, the Sales and Marketing Manager of Multi TV, McBen Adu-Asamoah explained that the show was born out of the realisation of the “various challenges facing prospective car buyers ranging from financing, the type of vehicle to buy and generally information gap between the auto dealers and their prospective customers.”
These concerns he said, prompted Multi TV to come up with an idea of creating a platform to bring all stakeholders in the automobile sector together to interact amongst themselves as well as to provide solutions to the challenges facing the customers and “crack the difficulties around the purchase of brand new vehicles by the average Ghanaian.”
The show he noted also provided opportunities for various auto dealers to showcase and launch 2011 and 2012 editions of their vehicles. Key amongst them were the out-door of the BMW X3 from Mechanical Lloyd, the Geely EC 7 Emgrand from Platinum Motors, 2012 edition of the Toyota Fortuner from Toyota Ghana Company Limited, 60th Birthday celebration of the Nissan Patrol and out-door of the 2011 edition by Japan Motors Trading Company Limited.
Other brands of Vehicles exhibited included Mercedes Benz from Silver Star Auto limited, Ford from Mechanical Lloyd, Honda, Skoda, Hyundai and Audi from Stallion Motors, Rexton and Lifa from Modern Automobile Company limited. There were automotive products and services available at the show including Toyo tires from Somotex, Yokohama Tires from Samir Engineering, Exide Batteries from Gloaap Limited, Valvoline and Sailun lubricants from Kelwalram limited, Tramigo GSM/GPS car tracking device from Certified Technologies Services limited and a variety of Lubricants from Engen Ghana limited.

Multi TV in their efforts to provide more compelling sales and marketing solutions to their advertisers Mr. McBen Adu-Asamoah said at the closing ceremony that these and many of such specialized fairs will be organized annually.
