The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Macbancy Perfumes, Muslim Mohammed Nuru has revealed the most shocking moments in his life at the Central University College when his colleagues accused him falsely, which led to his suspension for one academic year.

In an exclusive interview with Roselyn Felli on Prime Morning on Monday, April 11, 2022. He said, all this was plotted by a colleague who was aspiring to be the SRC President, a position he, Mr. Nuru, was interested in as well.

“I became the first Communications Student Association President at level 300; however, during the launch of the Association, I was accused of sharing alcohol at the event and subsequently suspended for a year. The person who plotted it thought I stand the chance of becoming the SRC President because of the fire I was coming with”, he stated.

Macbancy Perfumery is an indigenous Ghanaian fragrance and space scenting company that specialises in the production of high earned perfumes and home diffusers of high quality and longevity.

Muslim Nuru added that though it was a difficult time for him, he used the opportunity to learn how to do business during his stay at home. To him, the false accusation peddled against him did not only teach him a lesson, but was a blessing in disguise which led to his breakthrough as an entrepreneur.

He shared how he used to buy second-hand clothes and shoes and sell them just to remain relevant in the family when his colleagues were in the classroom. He eventually started the perfume business because of his admiration for perfumes and scents.

Muslim reiterated that he was confident the allegation was plotted because his belief as a Muslim is against it. The only thing that shocked him was how the College failed to serve him a copy of the allegation, especially the Patron of the Communication Students Association who was supposed to stand by him.

“I felt let down because, in whichever way, I was supposed to be served with a copy of the report before meeting the disciplinary committee. That suspension was harsh, but it actually pushed me to become who I am today”, he told the host, Roselyn Felli.
