The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has expressed its sincere gratitude to the government for attending to the concerns of the association. The President of NAGRAT, Mr Christian Addai-Poku told, the Daily Graphic in Kumasi that the association appreciated efforts by the government to nip in the bud problematic issues of the association. He said if the government had not intervened, the atmosphere would have been gloomy, adding, the strike action foreshadowed the ordeal which senior high school students who were the victims, would have gone through According to him, the resolve of the outstanding car maintenance and responsibility allowances by the government had resulted in a great deal of total co-operation. He said that government's ability to curb all ugly scenes in the association had demonstrated a deep "fatherly-love" that the government had for its working class. Mr Addai-Poku said that had also fostered unity and peaceful co-existence between the association and the Ministry of Education. He further said that the payment of the allowances had also restored mutual understanding and co-operation between the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the association. The NAGRAT President, who is also an English teacher at the Nkawie Senior Technical High School at Nkawie in the Atwima Nwabiagya District, said if members had not co-operated and acted in one accord, the strike action would have been to 110 avai1.
