Ghana Athletics, the governing body for athletics in the country, may hold a national trial to select the best sprinters to represent the country.
The body had already confirmed a national championship slated for August 2025.
However, that event could also serve as the national trial for Ghana's sprinters if more than three of them make the World Championships qualifying mark.

President of Ghana Athletics, Bawa Fusini
''There is going to be a national championship in August, where we will have the final selection for the World Championships in Japan (September 2025). We are praying and hoping that we will get more than three athletes qualifying for the 100m event,'' Bawa Fuseini, president of Ghana athletics disclosed.
The qualifying mark for the 100m event at the World Championships is 10 seconds.
At the moment, four of Ghana's sprinters have come close to making the mark since the United States outdoor season started.
Benjamin Azamati, Ghana's record holder in the event, has already run 10.02 seconds at the Desert Heat Classics in Tucson, Arizona.
Abdul Rashid Saminu, his teammate on Ghana's relay team, has also clocked a wind-assisted 9.87 seconds at the Florida Relays in April.
Joseph Paul Amoah, who led Ghana's relay team to qualify for the World Championships, also ran 10.21s at the Morgan State Legacy Meet in Baltimore on April 19.
Ibrahim Fuseini has also ran 10.03 in Texas on 1st May 2025.

Fuseini was named the Most Outstanding Performer after winning gold medals in the 4x100 meter relay, the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash, and ended the night by running the anchor leg and winning the 4x400 meter relay. He was also responsible for 25 of the East Texas A&M University's 86 points as they finished fourth.
''If there are more than three, then we would have to bring all our foreign athletes to come to Ghana, and do national trials just like how Nigerians do it, the United States, Australia, and South Africa. They always bring their top athletes to come down to compete. That is why we also want to do it in Ghana.''
