Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of nursing economically destructive ideas ahead of the December 2020 general elections.
While appealing for votes for the party's parliamentary candidate for the Odododiodio Constituency, Nii Lante Bannerman, Dr. Bawumia maintained that development under the NDC was nothing to be compared to that of the NPP over the last 4 years.
“When we talk about ideas for the development of the economy for the creation of jobs – those ideas come from the NPP, and when you talk about ideas for collapsing an economy and creating unemployment, those ideas come from the NDC.
So if you want to go forward, you go with the NPP, if you want to go backward, you go with the NDC,” he said.
The Vice President also mentioned during his Greater Accra Regional tour that the ruling party is to be trusted with a second term in office because of several plans that include securing employment opportunities for citizens of the country.
“We are asking you not to go back to John Mahama and the NDC because they only have ‘dumsor’, and unemployment for us. Under them, we cannot pay school fees, and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) will not work.
This is why we need the NPP in office, to create employment in the country” he said.
He attributed ongoing projects such as the Jamestown Habour, 'one-district-one-warehouse', Salaga market and the two astroturf stadia in Odododiodio to the competence of Nii Lante Bannerman, and asked that votes are cast in his favour for the continuation of such development.
