NDK Financial Services, a leading non-bank financial institution, has organised a leadership workshop for its top-management and heads of units.
The three-day workshop saw participants taken through topics such as leading oneself, leading the organisation, and leading one’s team.
Participants undertook various leadership assessment exercises and were involved in group discussions on how to lead in the 21st century. Heads of units and team-leaders developed visions and SMART Targets for the various units within NDK, and detailed specific work values and behaviours that will support the achievement of strategic objectives.
Commenting on the Leadership Program0e, the CEO of NDK, Mr. Oko Nikoi Dzani, said “It is only proper that we develop our leadership capacity to match NDK’s future aspirations. Indeed, we have set for ourselves very high standards. Our ultimate competitive advantage is the quality of people that we have. So we will continue to develop leadership capacity at all levels within NDK.”
The training was also intended to prepare leaders to take up higher leadership roles as NDK expands and other leaders leave to make way for capable successors. According to the Head of HR and Administration, Mrs. Pamela Yebesi, the Leadership workshop is the first in the series of Leadership Development Programmes that have been earmarked for 2012. She stated that “It is the firm’s intention to develop leaders across all levels of the organisation since that is the only way NDK can continue to deliver excellent services to their clients.”
The Leadership Development Workshop was facilitated by Mr. Robert M. Bennin, CFA, Senior Advisor of CEDINOMICS. CEDINOMICS is a research-based training and advisory firm focused on assisting companies to understand their markets, develop competitive strategies and increase employee engagement.
