The wait is over — with an important update for Africa’s biggest DJ event.
The official launch date for the 2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards has been rescheduled to Saturday, 19th July 2025, at Luna Rooftop Bar, Airport City, Accra.
This update following the announcement made live on Ghana’s leading entertainment radio station, Hitz FM, a fortnight ago, confirms that the much-anticipated launch — originally slated for 12th July — will now take place a week later.
Creative Director Merqury Quaye explains that the change in plans became imperative to provide ample accommodation for arrangements pertaining to the launch. This change comes as organizers, Merqury Republic, adjust plans to deliver an even more exhilarating experience for fans and industry players alike much later this year.

Merqury Republic has reiterated that the launch will have many facets including a chance for attendees to walk home with bigger rewards while fresh discoveries within Ghana’s thriving DJ scene are made.
His sentiments echo the theme for the 13th edition, “Shake the Floor”, underscoring the DJ’s vital role as more than just a music selector but a cultural tastemaker who uplifts communities through sound and energy.
Sponsored by Guinness Ghana and powered by Smirnoff, the 19th July launch will kick-start a packed calendar leading up to the main event on 29th November 2025 at the Palms Convention Center in Accra. Fans can look forward to signature side events such as Pub Fest, the Ladies Concert, and the Nominees Jam.
Additionally, the popular TV series Road to Guinness Ghana DJ Awards will air on Joy Prime, alongside a nationwide tour and the Ghana DJ Clinic, which offers invaluable training for DJs and industry stakeholders.

Organizers have hinted that around a dozen top DJs and artistes will deliver thrilling performances at this year’s event, many of whom will be confirmed to the public at the launch. Additionally, the 2025 spotlight feature — a reggae sound clash between two of Ghana’s heavyweight groups — promises to bring authentic Jamaican clash energy to Accra’s nightlife.
The journey to “Shake the Floor” with the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards officially kicks off on 19th July 2025 — save the date.
