The paramount chief of the New Juaben traditional area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III has urged communities in the municipality to take sanitation issues seriously and participate in clean-up exercises.
According to him cleaning the environment is very important to promoting good health while sanitizing the environment.
Daasebre Kwaku Boateng made this known when he participated in a clean-up exercise organized by Star Assurance in Koforidua as part of activities marking its 38th-anniversary celebration.

The exercise, which was in partnership with Zoomlion, GPRTU, and the New Juaben traditional council was centred on the Koforidua to Kumasi and Koforidua to Accra main lorry terminals.
During the exercise, gutters which were choked with plastic material and silts were desilted while waste materials and garbage that had littered the environment were cleaned.

Daasebre Kwaku Boateng addressing his subjects urged them to join him make Koforidua clean.
The Chief Finance Officer of Star Assurance, Justice Frank Offei, said the clean-up exercise reflects the company's vision of being a solid support to the needs of its partners.

The occasion was also used to educate drivers on road safety and insurance tips.

They proceeded to the Omanhene's palace to donate an amount of ten thousand cedis, hand washing facilities and other items to support his development agenda.
