Nhyira FM, a leading Akan radio station under the Multimedia Group Limited, has touched the lives of hundreds of vulnerable children in 24 orphanages and care homes across the Ashanti Region.
The 2024 ‘Nhyira ‘Abodoo’ charity event raised GH₵230,000 from the compassionate hearts of listeners to support underprivileged individuals and institutions.
The orphanages shared a total of GH₵170,000, while the remaining funds will be invested in educational scholarships for needy students.

The initiative dubbed ‘Nhyira Abodoo’ is part of Nhyira FM's annual commitment to social responsibility, and is designed to empower and uplift the less fortunate in the Ashanti Region.
The event held during the Christmas season highlighted the dedication to making the holiday season meaningful for the underprivileged with the distribution of food items, clothing and money.
Beneficiaries and sympathizers enjoyed a day filled with dance competitions, good meals, and confectionaries.

For the caretakers of local orphanages, the timely donations from Nhyira FM provided essential support, providing immediate relief amidst the current economic challenges.
They burst into joyous reactions, indicating the intervention will cushion and support their organizations.
“This year has been wonderful and exceptional. We have been given food items that we believe can sustain us for over a month,” said Joseph Appiah from Hecca Children’s Home.
“I am from Offinso Orphanage home. Such a secluded area. Almost out of touch, but Nhyira FM has been able to locate us and assist us. We pray that the heavens fulfil their expectations,” a representative of Offinso Orphanage home said.
“We are so grateful for this. Last year, we received Ghc7, 000. But this year the amount has been increased to GH₵9,000. This is amazing. This will help the homes immensely,” a representative of Kumasi Children’s Home said.

Over the last two decades, the media organization has provided financial support to underprivileged students at both secondary and tertiary levels of education, with the majority of them currently pursuing professional programmes at the university.
The Management of Luv FM and Nhyira FM is looking to support needy students with scholarships through the annual project that amassed GH₵230,000.
Programmes Manager at Nhyira FM, Benjamin Ocran stated that the expectations of the year’s event have been met, ensuring a resounding impact.

“It is a delight seeing the company put smiles on the faces of the underprivileged. The highlight is the fact that expectations have been exceeded. More people in care homes have been impacted, and that for me is the dream and commitment of Nhyira Fm,” he said.
The host of the "OBRA" show on Nhyira FM, Mama Effe Amanor, who was instrumental in the event organization appreciated benevolent outfits and individuals for their consistent support of the ‘Nhyira Abodoo’ project.

“The constant support we receive from our listeners and sympathizers is overwhelming. And it keeps us going, making the impact a lasting one. We don’t take them for granted. We are indeed grateful,” she said.
