The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has moved swiftly to calm fears of flight disruptions as members of the Ghana Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (GhATSEA) threaten to embark on an industrial action on Thursday, October 30.
In a strongly worded statement, the Authority assured airlines, aviation stakeholders, and passengers that comprehensive contingency measures have been activated to guarantee safe, secure, and uninterrupted air traffic services across the Accra Flight Information Region (FIR).
Management, anticipating the strike threat, has rolled out a full CNS/ATM Systems Contingency Plan designed to keep Ghana’s skies open and operational.
The plan includes detailed operational procedures, emergency response teams, and robust coordination systems aimed at maintaining flight safety and preventing any shutdown of air navigation services.
The GCAA urged the travelling public to remain calm, stressing that both domestic and international flights would continue without disruption during the planned industrial action.
“The Authority remains fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of air navigation service delivery and ensuring the safety and security of all flights within Ghana’s airspace,” the statement said.
It added that the GCAA continues to value staff welfare and professional development as part of its commitment to a stable and safe aviation environment.
