Former Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo, Michael Teye Nyaunu says incumbent General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia is the best person for the role of the Party's General Secretary.
This is irrespective of Mr. Nyaunu's dislike for how Mr. Asiedu Nketia handles the party and some utterances he made against former President and the founder of the governing party, Jerry John Rawlings.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia who is seeking re-election is being challenged by one Abdul Ishaq Farrakhan at the December 20 national delegates' congress to be held in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
But Mr. Nyaunu says no other person in the party currently can be a better General Secretary than Mr. Asiedu Nketia, popularly called 'General Mosquito.'

Mr. Teye Nyaunu, a close friend of the former first family told Joy News' Eastern Regional correspondent Kofi Siaw in Koforidua, that: "I don't see anyone better than him, honestly and I mean so far."
"Except that...sometimes the way he talks about the founder and all that, I don't think it's a good hallmark of a General Secretary of a party but up till now I haven't seen anyone that has come up better than him".
Commenting on persons aspiring to positions within the party at the national level, the 'Political Maradonna' or MTN as he is affectionately called descended on former local government minister, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, a former National Organiser of the NDC.
He described Mr. Ofosu Ampofo as a "cunning character whom you cannot trust."
According to him, the genesis of the internal problems the party is currently facing was the result of Mr.Ampofo's actions and inactions.
"Ofosu and the clique are those who destroyed the party in the Eastern region, he is such a cunning character and any leader must be trustworthy; Ofosu Ampofo is the one that you cannot trust holding any position.
Analysing the National Organizer position contest between Kofi Adams and incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan, the former legislator noted that Mr.Adams is well cut out for the job than the incumbent.
"Adams has got the chance to go around the country, even though the incumbent has also gone around, we didn't see much of the incumbent in the scheme of affairs. We haven't seen much of him...I think Kofi Adams is more disposed to the people than the incumbent," he said.
