The Northern Regional Youth Organizers of the New Patriotic Party have pledged their support for aspiring National Youth Organizer, Richard Nyamah.
According to the regional youth organizers, after broad consultations and discussions among themselves, the see Richard Nyamah as the man with the credentials and charismas to lead the party’s youth.
A press statement signed by seven of the youth organizers said “he had shown over the past five years whilst in opposition, his commitment to the NPP through diver’s ways”.
The group said Mr. Nyamah played key roles in championing the cause of fighting corruption and ensured corrupt officially are brought to book citing the role he played in leaking the GYEEDA report to the media, the series of demonstrations and press conference to brig issues of corruption to the fore.
The youth organizers said Mr Nyamah through the Young Patriots organized the biggest ever demonstration in the Northern region which brought tens of thousands of people onto the streets of Tamale at a time the morale of the youth and supporters of the party was very low in the region.
The massive turnout they said was the turning point for the NPP in the Northern Region which motivated them to rally around each other and ensured that the fortunes of the party increased tremendously.
The youth organizers also touted him as a fighter who single handedly took on Hon. Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak on corruption charges and did same to Hon Mahama Ayariga at a time when the government of President Mills was not interested ‘he put his life on the line when he was been threatened and refused to negotiate with them behind the scenes to drop the cases of financial reward’.
They also said he and his colleague Fred Amankwah Sarfo have taken President Mahama to Parliament on corruption and mismanagement charges and called for the Impeachment of the President stating ‘that it takes a bold person who has since been threatened to be killed by members of the NDC, to still go ahead with such a move.’
They noted the role Mr. Nyamah played in ensuring victory for the NPP in his native Kpandai which was a safe seat for the NDC since 1992 till the NPP snatched it from them in 2012.
“Mr. Nyamah contested the said seat and lost its candidature but unlike others, he gave his full support physically through massive campaign with his own campaign team, financially and other resources. This presented a unified front for the party in an otherwise divided constituency. It takes a good person to accept defeat but a great person to support the victor”
The group said 2016, is a year of action and less talk, and so they need bold people who can inspire the youth to go to every nook and cranny of the country and sacrifice their lives to ensure NPP comes to power.
“Mr. Nyamah us we all know is an intellectual with a Master of Philosophy in Politics. His strategic thinking, organizational skills and deep thinking are unsurpassed among the youth of the party.”
