Deputy Minister of Communications, George Andah has rejected claims that he bribed delegates of Awutu Senya West to re-elect him in the just ended parliamentary primaries of the NPP.
Mr. Andah rather argues that he won the parliamentary primaries based on his achievements and the quality of leadership shown in the last three and half years as an MP.
Citing a number of developmental projects including the provision of water to over 30 communities, construction of public toilets amongst others, Mr. Andah said his victory was a confirmation of his work.
“What I have done is worthy of commendation.
"And the delegates are saying no to one term MP. A number of public toilets have been constructed, provision of water to 31 communities for the first time under my watch and extension of electricity to many many communities."
He also added that there are a number of NABCO beneficiaries, and two factories under the government's one district one factory projects.
He observed that there are also some projects underway in the constituency which explains the reasons by the delegates to retain him.
Mr Andah won the two-horse race contest after polling 438 votes of the valid votes cast. His main challenger, Mr. Joseph Aidoo secured 191 votes.
Following his victory, there were varied allegations of him financially influencing the delegates to vote in his favor.
But reacting to the claim, Mr. Andah conceded that only a token was given to the delegates.
He told JoyNews Kwesi Parker-Wilson that he lacked the needed funds to bribe delegates for his re-election.
He also rallied the supporters of the governing NPP to ensure victory for the party in the upcoming December polls.
He also appealed to delegates to assist him break the one-term MP jinx in the constituency.
