Krobo Girls' SHS suffered a painful loss to Techiman SHS in the one-eighth stage of the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
They were knocked out of the contest by only a two-point margin.
Techiman SHS took the lead in the first two rounds of the day but lost the spot to Krobo Girls in the third round when the ladies scored perfectly in the Problem of the Day.
Techiman SHS took over from the fourth round and maintained its momentum to the end. The school ended the race with 31 points while 'KROGISS' scored 29 points, leaving St. Margaret Mary SHS with 11 points.
The Prudential Life NSMQ Star award of GH¢2,400 went to Krobo Girls to get a perfect score of 10 points in the day's problem.

In another contest, Kanton SHS beat Assin State College and Apam SHS to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
Kanton SHS won the quarterfinal slot with just a one-point difference ahead of Apam SHS. They obtained 37 points at the end of the contest, whilst Apam SHS got 36 points, with Assin State College securing 16 points.
Swedru SHS also secured victory over Armed Forces SHTS and Tamale Islamic Science SHS.

Only St. Peter's SHS and St. Augustine's College could maintain their 'seeds' and progress to the quarterfinals at the end of the first day of the one-eighth contests.
