After the recent Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram outage which affected several businesses, Ghana's leading love and relationship mobile App, Odospice is set to introduce a market feature that will support small businesses in Ghana.
According to the media relations officer of the mobile app, Miss Trudy Senu, this is to provide an alternative social media platform to young entrepreneurs who suffered huge losses because they over-relied on these foreign social media platforms.
"As a technology start-up, we believe supporting our fellow entrepreneurs will go a long way in growing businesses in Ghana,” she said.
Business owners who depend on social media to drive their sales are still counting huge losses incurred during the six-hour outage on Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
In Ghana, businesses especially small and medium enterprises rely heavily on WhatsApp and Instagram for their orders.
During the outage, most of them suffered huge losses as customers struggled to make orders.
According to Ms Senu, this feature which is currently free will go a long way to serve the interest of Ghanaian small and medium enterprises especially start-ups.
She added that the Odospice mobile App has a Virtual Learning Platform with great courses for all kinds of business owners and learners.
"All you have to do is to download the app, sign up to our VIP membership and send us a message using the contact us feature on the App,” she added.
In explaining the Odospice mobile App, she said it is a free love and relationship mobile App that provides a platform for dating, making friends, learning about love and sexual health.
She further added that, this is not only a Ghanaian invention, but also the go-to app for Ghanaians lately, as it is spicing up many relationships and providing a platform for many to find and maintain a love match.
According to her, major users are from Ghana, USA, Belgium, Canada, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Nicaragua, India, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Turkey, UAE, La Côte d'Ivoire and the UK.
Available on Google Playstore and Apple store, Odospice does not only allow for singles to find people around them but also provides a platform for a blind date, love and sexual health information and titbits for couples on how to enhance their relationship, as well as their sexual and reproductive health.
With several signups to its dating feature, the app has also matched hundreds of blind date requests, making it one of the leading dating apps in the country.
“The Odopsice mobile App can help rebuild your confidence. The app provides a buffer and a layer between you and the people whose profiles you are looking at, and that can help build your confidence. Knowing they cannot see you as you decide if you are interested, and it gives you the comfort you need to make that match,” she explained.
“It is possible to see people on the app who are in your area, but you might never cross paths by chance. You can also expand your search radar to meet people outside the area where you spend most of your time,” she added.
She warned that just as real-life dating had its downside, using technology to find love also comes with risks, for which reason unsuspecting users ought to tread with caution.
