Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh has invoked former President Nana Akufo-Addo’s controversial “all die be die” remark to urge NPP supporters to stand firm behind Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President of Ghana.
Addressing party faithful during Dr Bawumia’s campaign stop in the Ashanti Region, Annoh-Dompreh said political contests required courage and resilience in the face of intimidation.
“He said Nana Addo was right with his ‘all die be die’ comment. If you are on a battlefield, don’t fear anyone because of intimidation,” he said.
The Minority Chief Whip stressed that his public endorsement of Dr Bawumia was deliberate and fearless, daring critics to confront him directly rather than through media commentary.
“If I’m here today and declared for Dr Bawumia, that man disturbing should come to my house to make noise and not on the airwaves,” Annoh-Dompreh added.
He also accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of presenting a united front behind a single candidate, warning the NPP not to allow a similar internal suppression of choice.
“The NDC is campaigning for one candidate which is evidence to all. We won’t allow that to happen today or tomorrow,” he said.
