Tragedy struck in the early hours of March 7 at Teacher Mantey on the Accra–Kumasi highway when a road traffic collision claimed the life of one individual.
According to a post shared on Facebook by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), personnel from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station of the GNFS promptly responded to the incident.

A six-member rescue team, led by ADOII Ocansey Bright, arrived at the scene to find that a Toyota Voxy had collided with a stationary MAN Diesel truck.

Firefighters worked to extricate the body of a male occupant trapped inside the Voxy, which had suffered extensive damage in the crash. The deceased was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the Toyota Voxy, allegedly travelling at excessive speed, ran into the stationary truck.
The fire service team later cleared the wreckage, ensuring the highway was safe for other motorists before returning to base.

Investigations into the exact cause of the crash are ongoing.
