One person was reportedly killed today in Bunkpurugu-Yonyoo, an incident being linked to a chieftaincy dispute among the Bimoba clans of Jafouk and Jamong.
The deceased, a farmer according to reports, was ambushed and killed at his home while he was preparing to leave for his farm.
Deputy Northern Regional Minister Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini has condemned the killing, saying it is stifling efforts to bring peace to the area
In another development, Bimobas and Kokombas have resolved to put their age-long differences aside in a move to bring peace to Bunkpurugu area.
The parties held a “blood burial’ ceremony to signify their commitment to peace.
