Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, owner and life patron of football club Asante Kotoko, has impressed upon former Ghanaian international, Samuel Osei Kuffour to bring his expertise to bear and strengthen the technical department of the club.
Describing him as an accomplished footballer with many years of experience, Otumfuo said "I expect you to endeavour to complement efforts of the technical team to build a winsome side.”
Kuffour, a member of the newly-constituted Kotoko board, previously played for Bundesliga side Bayern Munich, with which he won the UEFA Champions League.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu, inaugurating the Paul Adu-Gyamfi-led ten-member board at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Wednesday, stressed the need for former players of the club to be given the opportunity to contribute their quota to enhance the technical direction of the club.
Other members of the Board include Frank Apeagyei, Kabral Blay-Amihere, Nana Kwame Kusi II, Otumfuo’s Ankobeahene, Kofi Dua Adonten, Nana Ekuoba Kwadwo Gyasi, Jude Arthur, Joe Gyekye, representing the old players, and Bernard Xiel, representing the supporters.
