Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has underscored the gravity of the responsibility shouldered by the Police Council, emphasising that its decisions will have a profound impact on the security of the Ghanaian populace.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the Police Council at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, June 10, Professor Opoku Agyemang, who constitutionally chairs the council, highlighted the critical role the body plays in maintaining law and order.
As the chair of the Police Council, Professor Opoku Agyemang stressed the importance of taking their responsibilities seriously. "Our responsibility here is a serious one," she stated.
"The decisions we will make will affect the security of our citizens, the morale of our officers, and the trust between the law enforcement agencies and the public."
She underscored the delicate balance the council must maintain to ensure public safety and confidence in law enforcement.
The Vice President's emphasis on the council's role in shaping the security landscape of Ghana serves as a reminder of the need for diligence and dedication.
By acknowledging the far-reaching implications of their decisions, Professor Opoku Agyemang also urged council members to approach their duties with the seriousness and gravitas they deserve.
