Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has pledged to lead the Police Council with transparency, inclusivity, and a deep respect for the rule of law.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the Police Council at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, June 10, Prof Opoku Agyemang, who constitutionally chairs the council, underscored the importance of upholding the principles of good governance.
As the chair of the Police Council, Prof Opoku Agyemang acknowledged the gravity of the responsibility shouldered by the council. "Our responsibility here is a serious one," she stated.
"The decisions we will make will affect the security of our citizens, the morale of our officers, and the trust between the law enforcement agencies and the public."
In light of this, she opined that she is committed to leading the council with integrity and a commitment to the rule of law.
As the Vice President assumes her constitutional role as chair of the Police Council, she was emphatic that her leadership would bring a sense of purpose and direction to the body.
With her pledge to lead with transparency, inclusivity, and respect for the rule of law, Prof Opoku Agyemang stated that she was poised to make a positive impact on the council's work, promoting a safer and more just society for all Ghanaians.
