As Liberians go to the polls today, over 2.4 million electorates are expected to cast their ballots in the 5,890 polling places.
Each electorate is entitled to three ballots for the Presidential, Senate and House of Representatives elections.
Nineteen presidential candidates are hoping to unseat the incumbent George Weah who is anticipating a second term.

Long queues mount at polling stations in Liberia for today's elections.
Before 7:30 a.m., many polling places had been set up. Party agents have been at post to observe the process.
Both the Liberia Council of Churches and the Bar Association station representatives are at polling points.
Details of voters are displayed in front of polling centres to enable them to identify these areas.

The ECOWAS Observation Team got to the Matilda Newport High School Polling Station One about 30 minutes before the first ballot was cast.
Leader, Prof. Attahiru Jega, speaking to the media, expressed satisfaction at the process so far.
"We hope that from what we are seeing in terms of discipline of voters in the queue and diligence of the polling station officials, it promises to be a good transparent election," he said.

The ECOWAS has deployed over 120 observers to various counties of the country.
Some security is provided to protect the polling places.
Arrangements were made for security personnel and others on special assignment to vote in the Presidential election at any station after the show of identification.
