Paris 2024: Cadman Yamoah eyes Olympics spot

African Games high jump champion Cadman Evans Yamoah reckons winning the gold medal at the continental event is a stepping stone towards greatness and has set sights on reaching new heights.

Speaking to JoySports, he describes the success as an honour.

"I feel honoured," Cadman reflects. "Every athlete needs a stepping stone, and this is just my stepping stone," he noted.

With his recent triumph at the African Championships, clearing a height of 2.23 meters, Cadman knows that the journey has only just begun.

"Everyone is trying to qualify for the Olympics," he remarks.

"Having achieved this height, a new personal record, I am going back to the drawing board to reset our minds and rechannel our focus.

"Those 2.15 or 2.16m bars, we are not focusing on that again," Cadman states.

"We are going to practice with 2.25 or 2.35 meters. If I hadn't achieved the 2.23m, probably 2.21m would have been my mark. That's where I would have started my jumps from, so 2.23m is an opening."

With each training session, Cadman pushes himself beyond his limits, determined to soar higher than ever before. The track becomes his sanctuary, the bar his ultimate challenge, and the cheers of the crowd fuel his spirit.

As the Olympic trials draw near, Cadman remains undeterred. He knows that success is not measured by the medals around his neck but by the relentless pursuit of excellence.

With each jump, he defies gravity and transcends expectations, a true champion in every sense of the word.

For Cadman Evans Yamoah, the sky is not the limit—it's just the beginning. And as he prepares to take his next leap of faith, the world watches in awe, inspired by his unwavering determination and unyielding spirit.
