Pastors of the Achimota Park Christians Family (APCF), operators of the various fellowships and prayer sessions at the Achimota Forest have disowned Pastor Bright Addo, the 27-year-old 'Man of God' arrested by the Madina Police for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.The executive members of the association, upon reading the weekend edition of DAILY GUIDE captioned "Pastor Shaves Girl, 13", 'invaded' the offices of the newspaper Monday to disclaim the said pastor who told the police in his cautioned statement that he was the pastor in charge of the Divine Faith Prayer Ministry based at the Achimota Forest.The five-member executive, made up of Rev. Richmond Ainooson, Chairman; Rev. Frank Williams, Vice Chairman; Rev. Ken Brew, Secretary; Rev. Ohene Djan and Rev. Kwame Adjei, both members, stated that Pastor Addo was not on their records as a member of the group.In their disclaimer, the men of God stated that many charlatans use the name of the place to perpetrate various crimes in the name of God and when they are busted they try to align themselves with the APCF. Speaking as the spokesman of the group, Rev. Brew noted that the association in its quest to ensure that there was sanity and discipline in whatever they did at the park, formed the APCF about two years.He said their activities are regulated by the Forest Commission, under whose management the Achimota Forest falls.Rev. Brew stressed that "over the years, wrong things have been associated with the fellowship" thereby tarnishing the image of the place, but said they would no longer allow that to happen.According to him, the association had been collaborating with the Achimota Police to ensure that any corrupt member, whose attitude would cast a slur on the image of the group, was flushed out."Any member of the group, who misbehaves and we find that he needs to be reported to the police, we don't hesitate at all," they claimed. Rev. Brew explained that even though there are different prayer groups that operate in the forest, the association ensures that group members are registered and issued with identification cards before they are admitted into the place.In a demonstration of how true that was, they showed DAILY GUIDE a sample of the ID card and a registration form. "If he is claiming to be part of us, we're today denying him and we want the whole world to know that he is not on our records," the group emphasized.The pastors urged Ghanaians not to disregard the work they are doing because of the attitudes of the likes of pastor Addo since "God is doing great things to the people and we will not sit down for charlatans to tarnish our image".They stated that apart from praying for people of all shades of life who throng the place for spiritual solutions to their problems, they have been praying for the progress of the nation as well.One of such prayer sessions, according to them, was the one organised on December 21, 2007, dubbed 'National Day of Prayers', a prayer day for the nation.Bright Addo was arrested by the Madina police for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old Junior High School student at his Ritz Junction Area resi¬dence at Madina, a suburb of Accra.He was said to have taken advantage of the girl's weakness after the sex act and shaved her pubic hair as she lay on the bed.Pastor Addo told the police that he was the pastor in charge of the Divine Faith Prayer Ministry at the Achimota Forest but lived at the Ritz Junction Area at Madina near Accra.Source: Daily Guide
