Ghana could be losing thousands if not millions of cedis to smugglers at various unapproved routes at the Elubo border in the Western region.
The smugglers who transport goods at a fee for people looking to evade duties at the approved routes have been emboldened by the lack of logistics on the part of immigration and customs officials stationed there.
Joy News’ Western regional correspondent, Inna Thalia-Quansah travelled through six out of 10 unapproved routes and interacted with some of the smugglers who show no sign of fear for immigration officers.
