The Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Ebenezer Kofi Ofori Portuphy has been honoured by the West African Nobles Forum in recognition of his roles played in upholding the tenets of intergrity and accountability.
A Citation read and presented to him by the president of the forum, Noble Rockson Dogbegba said "You are today honoured for being an eminent West African who upholds the virtues of Honesty, Integrity and Accountability".
Sir Portuphy, receiving the award expressed gratitude to the forum for recognising his contribution to society.
"This is coming as a suprise to me,i can only assure you that this award shall spur me on to do more in the areas of Accountability and intergrity".
Meanwhile, Mr Portuphy, a founding member of the National Democratic Congress, has ended his nationwide tour of canvassing for votes to become the national chairman of the NDC.
Speaking to Joy News after his tour of the Ashanti region where he received massive endorsement from delegates, the current vice chairman of the NDC called current executives to bring onboard past executives and everybody who matters as they battle-ready for the 2016 elections.
According to him his main objective is to ensure that the NDC holds on to power after the 2016 elections when voted as the national chairman.
Acknowledging the efforts made by the current executives, Mr Portuphy also the current director of elections of the NDC explains "the time has come for a fresh limb to lead the party as the national chairman'.,and the man to ensure that NDC retains power after 2016 is no other person but Kofi Portuphy
The position of the national chairman of the NDC is keenly contested by ex-ambassador, Dan Agbodakpi, incumbent Dr.Kwabena Agyei and former General secretary, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya but political pundits strongly tip the NADMO boss to unseat Dr.Agyei.
