The Executive Pastor of Worldwide Word Ministries, the Hill City Church, Apostle Chris Gbedemah, has opined that depending on only prayers cannot help in the manifestation of one’s resolutions.

Most Christians believe that praying over their planned New Year resolutions is the only way to achieve them.

As a result, they become hesitant to work, believing that their objectives will be met through intense prayer.

However, in explaining how to achieve New Year resolutions to KMJ on Prime Morning on Tuesday, Apostle Chris stated that most people sometimes get disappointed when they are unable to achieve their resolutions due to a lack of knowledge of what can be done to attain them.

"It’s not just the prayer that’s going to cause that thing to manifest, even though you’re a believer and you’ve written down the resolutions. Praying alone may not make that manifest. There are other things you need to know from the word of God and you need to do them, then you can achieve the things you’ve written down,"

He stated that practical ways of doing things enable one to achieve their resolutions.

Even though prayer is important in the success journey of every individual, he believes work is also a necessity, saying, "Resolutions inspire people to work harder."

The pastor believes that increasing one's capacity for doing things can also aid in the achievement of one's resolutions.

Apostle Chris further affirmed that tithing serves as a major influence in the financial success of every Christian.

In addition, he stated that giving to the poor also helps uplift the individual’s financial status, indicating that people who do not give to the poor are "stingy".

He also believes that the accomplishment of one’s resolutions is dependent on the individual’s faith.

As 2023 has just begun, he urged people to evaluate themselves before putting down their resolutions, as self-evaluation is key. "You need to pray and trust in God so that He’ll help you write down the things you have faith for," he said.

When one is unable to accomplish his or her resolutions within the year, Apostle Chris entreated that there should not be a cause for disappointment. The failure, he said, "is not a crime."
