A symbolic rainbow appeared in the skies today, October 20, which members of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana believe signified the spiritual presence of their departed leader, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, as the nation marked the 40th day since his passing.
At the University of Ghana Sports Complex Park, scores of mourners gathered in solemn remembrance and deep reverence for the man fondly remembered as the “Star of Africa”.
The late Apostle, who passed away on 11th September 2025 at the age of 77, was commemorated in a grand and emotionally charged ceremony that drew dignitaries, church members, family, and admirers from across Ghana and beyond.

The commemorative event, which began at 8:00 a.m. and runs through to 6:00 p.m., has featured prayers, hymns, and heartfelt tributes, all delivered beneath a striking canopy of red and black colours worn by attendees at the request of the family to signify mourning and respect.
The atmosphere was one of both grief and gratitude, as the country paid homage to a man whose legacy transformed multiple facets of Ghanaian life from industry and agriculture to technology and spirituality.

Among the notable figures in attendance was Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, who joined in celebrating the life of Apostle Safo.

His presence added to the weight of national recognition bestowed upon the late Apostle, whose pioneering work in local manufacturing and community upliftment earned him admiration across political, religious, and traditional divides.

Apostle Safo is best remembered as the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana and the visionary behind the Kantanka Group of Companies, through which he designed and manufactured Ghana-made vehicles and machinery, including the celebrated Kantanka Omama SUV and Onantefo pickup truck.
But beyond his technological feats, Apostle Safo also inspired generations through his spiritual leadership, promoting discipline, unity, innovation, and a deep faith in God.

His teachings and example encouraged countless Ghanaians to believe in the power of homegrown talent and African ingenuity.
The ceremony also saw the participation of Sarah Adwoa Safo, Esq., former MP for Dome-Kwabenya, and her siblings, who joined with members of the Aduana family of Essumangya and Asantemanso, alongside thousands from the Kristo Asafo Mission.

Together, they paid tribute to a patriarch whose influence extended from the pulpit to the production line, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate in Ghana’s social and economic development.
Though his earthly journey has ended, the memory and mission of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka endure.
As the rainbow gently faded into the morning sky, mourners were reminded that his spirit remains with the nation inspiring future generations to pursue excellence, self-reliance, and service to humanity.
