A team from Food for All Africa and MaxMart Family Shopping Centre paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu to officially inform him and seek his blessings on the 2021 Ramadan “Feed the Ummah Project”.

“Feed the Ummah” is an initiative by Food for All Africa and MaxMart Family Shopping Centre aimed at encouraging the public to relieve the vulnerable in Ramadan and feed a family for an entire month, ensuring they receive all the essential nutrients they desperately need.
Inspired by the Holy Quran chapter 76:8-9 “The righteous are those who give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan and the captive saying we feed you for the sake of Allah alone. We seek from you neither reward nor thanks.”

Feed the Ummah 2021 would provide support to over 5,000 families across Zongo communities with food bags, daily iftar meals and basic supplies.
The public can support the project by donating food stuffs into designated trolleys at all MaxMart branches or call Food for All office lines for donations to be picked up from any part of the country.

To donate through Mobile Money number 0553413100 or *789*8000# or through PayPal link
MaxMart Family Shopping Centre has since 2016 been partnering Food for All Africa to provide food and essential support to low income families and communities. The MaxMart Food4All Ghana Ramadan Kareem projects has supported 8,000 people in the last four years.

Food for All Africa operates West Africa’s first and largest food bank in Ghana by creating efficient and sustainable means of healthy nutrition for communities through advocacy, food recovery, and redistribution in co-operation with credible, potential partners in all sectors

Last year, despite the challenges of COVID-19 lockdowns, economic instability, and the devastating loss of many loved ones, Food for All Africa provided support to over 260,000 people across Ghana.
Food poverty is a reality for hundreds of millions of people around the world, 690 million people are under-nourished, this figure is expected to increase by a further 132 million due to Covid-19 (UN).
