Residents in Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region are protesting against the removal of the District Chief Executive of the area.
Jones Amoah was part of five DCEs who were relieved of their duties early this week by President John Mills. No reasons have yet been given.
But the residents are unhappy with his removal and have taken to the streets.
They tell Joy News' Western Regional Correspondent Kweku Owusu Peprah the president erred in getting rid of Amoah.
According to them the sacked DCE has contributed immeasurably towards infrastructural development in the vicinity and would not have anybody else as a replacement.
They have also accused the chairman of the NDC in the constituency of being behind the removal of the DCE.
They claim the NDC chair has been feeding the president with wrong information which has led to his subsequent removal.
But the sacked DCE has called for cool heads to prevail.
Jones Amoah told Kweku Owusu Peprah it is the president's prerogative to appoint and terminate appointments and does not have any grudge to bear.
He also dismissed assertions that he has instigated the residents to go on demonstration on his behalf.
