Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has promised to make the budget for the Black Stars’ two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar public.
Ghana picked up maximum points in the two games to boost their qualification chances, with the Otto Addo’s men set to resume their quest for a place at the World Cup in September.
According to the Sports Minister, making the budget public before the games would’ve served as a distraction to the team’s preparations.
“The budget for the team will be made available,” he told Asempa FM.
“There is nothing to hide from the public, but we must know it is expensive to take care of the national team because most of the players are coming from Europe.
“People were asking me to disclose the budget for the games, but I kept asking myself what the budget would do for the team ahead of the games?
“Sometimes, some situations create distraction for the team, so we should weigh every situation before making a decision,” he added.
