Brazil coach Mano Menezes will start Ronaldinho ahead of Ganso for their friendly with Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to a report.
The young Santos playmaker Ganso has come under scrutiny due to the prominence of fellow prodigy Neymar.
With Ganso's progression stalling through a series of injuries and inconsistent form, Menezes has opted to leave him out of the side for their clash in Switzerland, according to Lance.
Ganso has not made an appearance for the national team since picking up an injury on international duty in Brazil's friendly with Ghana in September.
Reports in the Brazilian media suggest Ganso will be left out of the starting line-up as Ronaldinho is selected, despite doubts over the latter's impact at Flamengo.
The real beneficiary is Hernanes of Lazio however, who is likely to occupy the playmaker role behind a front three of Ronaldinho, Neymar and Leandro Damiao.
