Security personnel dispatched to Salaga to restore order, have been involved in a road crash.
Two of the officers sustained "serious" injuries and have been sent to the Tamale Hospital, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, Public Relations Officer for the Northern Region Police Command has confirmed.
Ebenezer Tetteh said the officers were part of a team of security personnel detailed to Salaga on Saturday, to quell rioting there and were returning to Tamale when the accident occurred.
He said the driver of the vehicle in which the personnel were travelling, "attempted swerving a heap of sand at a village called Fio but somersaulted" with many of them escaping unhurt.
ASP Tetteh however said one of the two who sustained serious injuries, is in critical condition.
