Soccer fans at the on going Ghana 2008 have been urged to respect the National Anthem and the National Pledge.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mrs Oboshie Sai-Cofie, who made the call, expressed regret that many fans in their euphoria d forgot to show respect to the national symbols.
She cited the whistling and drumming by fans while the national anthem was played before the Ghana-Nigeria match, saying it was worrying.
According to her noise drowned the National Anthem which ought to have been listened to and fans sung along.
She therefore appealed to all soccer fans to stand up and sing along while the National Anthem is being played as well as show respect to other national symbols.
