The Ghana Paralympic Committee (NPC-Ghana) has officially appointed and introduced Professor Youhwan Kim as its new Technical Advisor and Sports Development Director.
The ceremony, held at the NPC-Ghana Secretariat in Accra, marked the beginning of Professor Kim's one-year tenure, during which he will provide technical expertise to develop and promote para sports in Ghana.

In his remarks, he expressed his excitement to be in Ghana and contribute to the development of para sports in Africa.
"I can see the excitement from the streets, and I believe Ghana has a bright future in para sports," Professor Kim said.
"I will do my best during my one-year stay here, and I look forward to your guidance and support."
The NPC-Ghana has outlined several expectations from Professor Kim's tenure, including providing technical advice, capacity building, and developing a roadmap for Ghana's qualification events for the 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 to August 2, 2026, 2027 African Para Games, LA 2028 Paralympic Games in USA.
The introduction of Professor Kim marks a significant milestone in the development of para sports in Ghana. With his expertise and guidance, the NPC-Ghana is poised to take para sports to the next level, providing opportunities for athletes with disabilities to excel and represent Ghana on the international stage.
Mr. Youhwan Kim is the second technical advisor deployed to the NPC-Ghana under the auspices of the government of Korea. Dr. James Lee was the first to arrive 2 years ago.
"He was very instrumental in the implementation, hosting and successful delivery of the first-ever African Para Games on the African Continent, where we received massive support from Korean Government through the Korean Paralympic Committee including variety of sports equipment and logistics to facilitate the Games," said Samson Deen, NPC President, Ghana
"I have no doubt in my mind that the arrival of Mr. Youhwan Kim will further enhance the development and promotion of our sports and strengthen the capacity of our Associations/Federation in line with government’s Policy and Agenda of Resetting Ghana Sports," he concluded.
