Electoral courts will be set up in all 10 regions to resolve electoral disputes ahead of the December elections.
Individuals with grievances are expected to lodge their complaints with the Electoral Commission within 21 days, and cases will immediately be heard.
The Chief Justice, Mrs Justice Georgina Wood made this known at a forum organised by the Institute for Democratic Governance on Wednesday.
She gave the assurance that all structures needed in the adjudication of electoral complaints will be made available at these courts, to ensure speedy resolution.
“All other work the court does will be put on hold when these complaints come, all I have to do is to delegate people to adjudicate on the issues.” She added.
Participants at the forum welcomed the idea, saying it would minimise the tension and rancour associated with elections.
Mike Ocquaye chairman of the New Patriotic manifesto committee said the move was in the right direction, since the courts will exercise their power of justice over all other people who have different conceptions of what their right is.
Asiedu Nketia General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, said if people have confidence in the law courts, they will at all times turn to the institution even when they are cheated, knowing very well the will secure justice, but when it is the other way round, they turn to take the law into their own hands.
He therefore called for a fair and expeditious adjudication of electoral disputes by the judiciary.
Some however raised questions about the integrity of judges selected for the various cases.
But Her Ladyship Georgina Wood says judges with expertise and experience will be relied upon to dispense justice, adding names of those judges will be put in the public domain to allow for public scrutiny.
