The surgery to separate the Siamese twins whose case was made famous through a Hotline documentary on Joy FM's Super Morning Show has been postponed for the second time.Last week, the operation was rescheduled for Tuesday, February 19, 2013 because the twins had come down with a fever.Though their condition stabilized over the weekend, the fever recurred Monday, prompting surgeons to reschedule the operation.Dr. Nimako Boateng, a pediatric surgeon at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital who is part of the surgical team, says they will continue their diagnosis to ascertain exactly what is causing the spike in the infants' temperatures.Dr. Nimako said the babies will be closely monitored until sometime next week, when doctors will perform the surgery at a time that depends on the twins' response to treatment.Meanwhile, Multimedia Group Limited and the MTN Foundation have made their respective donations to the hospital and the mother of the Siamese twins.Multimedia and its listeners made a total donation of Gh¢ 12,970 to the mother, while MTN Foundation redeemed its Gh¢ 20,000 pledge.James Basintale, General Manager for the Northern Sector of MTN, made the presentation on behalf of MTN while James Aglah, Business Development Manager for Luv FM and Nhyira FM, made the donation on behalf of Multimedia and its listeners.
