A young man whose description fits a person in photographs of suspected guerrilla trainees has been picked up by the police in Bawku.
The Ghanaian Observer published photographs of gun totting young men said be undergoing guerrilla training in the area.
The true identity of the suspect is yet to be established but he is believed to be the son of Bawku Central Constituency Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The Upper East Regional Police Commander, ACP Bright Oduro confirmed the arrest of the suspect to Joy News but will not comment on his relationship with NDC Chairman.
He said the police were not interested in whom the suspects’ parents are or which political party he belongs to.
According to him, their major concern now is establishing whether indeed he is the one in the photographs published by the media.
