Dansoman-based Taking Over Stars were crowned champions of the third edition of the Tariq Lamptey Foundation Cup held at the La McDan Astroturf on December 23, 2023.
Organized by the charity of Ghana and Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey, the tournament brought together four U-15 teams who had qualified from a previous round of eight teams.
Defending champions Soccer Angles were beaten by Taking Over FC in the first semifinal on penalties while Krowor Youth accounted for Trust FC in the other semi-final by a two-goal margin.

The well-attended final had in attendance dignitaries including former Black Stars player Anthony Baffoe.
Krowor Youth opened the scoring in the first minute of the final but were pinned back by the determined youngsters from Dansoman led in attack by Denzel Gyan, nephew of ex-Black Stars striker, Asamoah Gyan.
It was Gyan who scored the equalizer on the verge of halftime, reacting to a poor save from the goalkeeper of Krowor Youth.
Both sides had good chances to win the game but failed to capitalize, leading to a battle of nerves from the penalty spot.
Taking Over goalkeeper Emmanuel Owusu proved to be the hero, making two saves to hand the trophy to the kids from Dansoman.
The event was also a family day out for children in the community who engaged in fun activities.
