A Tamale high court has placed an injunction on the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s planned regional elections scheduled to come off this weekend.
A member of the party, Mohammed Aliu, dragged the NDC to court claiming he was unfairly disqualified from contesting the party's regional secretary position.
Joy News' Northern Region correspondent reported the plaintiff as saying that his disqualification was a breach of his right to natural justice.
According to him, the constituency secretary of the party made a mistake in filling his portion of form and did not understand why he the aspirant should be punished for it.
The General Secretary of the party Johnson Asiedu Nketia was in the region last weekend to vet the aspirants.
Mohammed Aliu said he spent about 30 minutes being vetted when other aspirants spent a maximum of two minutes.
He was convinced his disqualification was unjust and therefore proceeded to court to seek an injunction- an application the court has granted.
