Relegation-threatened Tema Youth claimed all three points with a 2-0 victory over relegated Real Tamale United on Saturday to keep their hopes of avoiding the drop alive in the Glo Premier League.
Tema Youth were five points off adrift of safety with the rest of the match-day-24 fixture scheduled for Sunday.
But a goal in either half at the Tema Stadium helped them close the gap to two points behind Liberty Professionals, who are away to leaders, Medeama.
Goals from Francis Narh, the Tema side's leading scorer with 11 goals and Daniel Appiah ensured that they continue their escape strategy though they still sit in the bottom three.
Narh opened the scoring after 38 minutes before Appiah doubled their lead when he made it two-nil nine minutes after the break.
The defeat was RTU's 19th of the season as they still chase their first win of the campaign.
