The police in Obuasi Boete in the Obuasi East District of the Ashanti Region have arrested a tenant who allegedly murdered a four-year-old, Friday.
Obaa Yaa, the mother of the deceased told Adom News' Isaac K. Normanyo that her son was bathing when she left the house to buy porridge.
She said upon her return, she could not find her son so she drew the attention of the other tenants in the house.
A search found the dead body in the room of one of the tenants by name Kwame who is said to be in his 20s.
There was a frantic effort to know the whereabouts of the suspect but he could not be found anywhere in the house or its surroundings.
The Obuasi Divisional Crime Officer, Supt. Emmanuel Issaka who confirmed the death of the four-year-old stated that the suspect is at large and they are working to bring him to book.
Hours laters, the police announced that they have arrested the suspect at Diawuoso close to where he stays.
The body has been deposited at the Obuasi Government Hospital for autopsy.
Residents of the area say news of the mysterious death has traumatised them.
They told the reporter that they fear for their lives and the lives of their children and called for tight security in the area.
