More than hundred delegates of the deaf community in Ghana participated in the four-day International Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Ohene-Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.
Through the use of the American Sign Language, the delegates were fed with rich spiritual meal through several symposia, a public discourse, demonstrations, real-life experiences and a bible based drama on the convention theme: "Keep On The Watch.
They were reminded of the need to keep awake so they are not taken unaware, especially where there is every indication that we are in the end of the world.
Various speakers emphasized the need for true Christians to take their Bible studies seriously and help others to know God's purpose for mankind.
In addition, family members were urged to play their respective roles at home, to ensure that the home becomes a safe haven.
About 2,000 international delegates, including missionaries came from Angola, ¸Benin, Britain, Cameroon, DR Congo, CongoBrazaville, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra-Leone and Togo.
A 35-minute video entitled "The Wonders of Creation Reveal God's Glory" in English French and other languages, a brochure entitled "The Bible - What Is Its Message?" and a 224-page book themed "Bearing Thorough Witness about God's Kingdom" were released at the convention.
An hour Bible drama entitled "Your Brother Was Dead and Came to Life" was staged to the admiration of the more than 45,000 conventioneers.
In all 937 candidates were ordained as new ministers through water baptism.
