The resurrection of Jesus Christ was celebrated with renewed hope and generosity in Tsiame this Easter, as the Tsiame Dunenyo Movement (TDM), through its Mentors League, delivered a vital donation of medical supplies to the Tsiame CHPS Compound. The gesture, marked by unity and compassion, brought together community leaders, healthcare workers, and residents in a spirit of shared purpose.

A Gesture of Compassion and Unity

On 20 April 2025, representatives of TDM’s Mentors League gathered at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church in Tsiame, following a Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Gustav Adjaho. Amidst a fully packed congregation, the group presented a substantial supply of essential medications to the Tsiame CHPS Compound. The donated items included anti-malarials, pain relievers, multivitamins, blood boosters, and other critical drugs, aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of Tsiame and neighbouring communities.

Collaborative Efforts for Community Health

The donation was made possible through the partnership of M&G Pharmaceutical Company and Amponsah Effah Pharmaceuticals, longstanding supporters of TDM’s initiatives. Originally intended for a health screening programme during the Tsiame Nunenyoza 2025 celebrations—an annual event suspended this year due to unforeseen circumstances—the drugs were instead channelled directly to the CHPS Compound. This pivot ensured the resources continued to serve their core purpose: safeguarding community health.

A Call for Equitable Access

During the presentation, Ing. Dr Kenneth Ashigbi, representing TDM’s Mentors League, emphasised that the medications must be administered free of charge to all beneficiaries. He urged Rev. Fr. Gustav Adjaho to oversee the distribution process, ensuring transparency and adherence to this directive. Prof. Kobla Aheto, endorsing the initiative, expanded the scope of beneficiaries to include students of Tsiame Senior Secondary School. He also stressed the importance of monitoring drug expiry dates to maximise impact and safety.

Gratitude and Forward Vision

Ms Kattah Esinam, Lead Nurse at the CHPS Compound, accepted the donation alongside Gershon Saneki, expressing profound gratitude to the donors and TDM. She highlighted the facility’s commitment to equitable distribution and echoed hopes for revived health education campaigns in local churches, akin to the successful 2019 outreach. “These medications will bring immediate relief, but education remains key to long-term wellness,” she remarked.

Community Leaders Unite for Progress

The event underscored the power of collaboration, with prominent figures in attendance, including Togbi Atieku II, TDM executives, and church leaders. Their presence symbolised a united front in addressing community health challenges. Rev. Fr. Gustav Adjaho closed the ceremony with a prayer, blessing the initiative and reaffirming his role in ensuring the drugs reach those in need.

A Legacy of Care

As the Tsiame CHPS Compound begins distributing the donated supplies, the Easter donation stands as a testament to TDM’s enduring commitment to community welfare. By turning challenges into opportunities, Tsiame’s leaders and partners have woven a narrative of resilience—one where health, hope, and collective action illuminate the path forward.

Beneficiaries: All patients at Tsiame CHPS Compound, including residents of Tsiame, nearby communities, and students of Tsiame Senior Secondary School.
Distribution Policy: Free of charge, monitored for equity and safety, until supplies are exhausted.

In the words of Prof. Kobla Aheto, “When we prioritise the health of our people, we invest in the future of our land.” This Easter, Tsiame took a bold step toward that future.
