Black Stars caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu has defended his decision to include striker Emmanuel Osei Banahene in his squad for Ghana’s AFCON qualifiers this month.
Coach Konadu has invited 23 players who are currently in camp preparing for the final two AFCON 2015 games against Uganda and Togo.
Emmanuel Osei Banahene’ call-up has generated a lot of controversies as other high-profile leagues strikers were snubbed.
But coach Maxwell Konadu has outmost confidence in the striking form of the Saudi Arabian based striker.
“He is a Ghanaian and is playing very well in Saudi Arabia and I think he has been invited before but due to injury he couldn’t play,” said coach Konadu
“We thought that it is the right time for us to give him the opportunity to show us what he has.
“I don’t think it is a problem because he is also up there with the boys and doing his best.”
