This Saturday on Newsfile, Samson Lardy Anyenini and his panelists will discuss some issues which caught the attention of Ghanaians and sparked various conversations.
One of the issues is the swearing-in of the three members of the EC which has arguably been the most debated.
The argument has ranged from Sammy Gyamfi’s description of the EC as an annex for NPP, to Joyce Bawa Morgtari’s advice to the President to avoid appointments that give the impression of jobs for boys and girls and Mahama’s insistence that Akufo-Addo’s appointments of NPP activists to EC require amendment of Article 43 and political expert, Dr. Asah-Asante justifying these allegations with the claim that it was a way to jealously safeguard the EC and its work.
Thus, the question is, “Prez Akufo-Addo blights neutrality and independence of the EC?”
Another key point is the President acting on allegations by the former Environment, Science and Technology Minister, Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng that many top government officials engaged in illegal mining, popularly known as ‘galamsey’ by tasking the Ghana Police Service to investigate the allegations.
This calls for answers to the question, “President set the police on galamseyers in his office?”
And finally, the question on the minds of many, “President is out of touch with the true state of the nation?”
