There were nearly 100 people sheltering from floods in the station when the blaze broke out on Wednesday night. It also damaged nearby buildings.
It was a damage beyond any imaginable proportions....200 innocent Ghanaians are dead.
Little did I know that James Nii Adjei Laryea(my nephew) was one of the people engulfed by the fire..!!!
Our property had not only been hit by the floods but our own(son) had also been taken away by the inferno at cycle Goil Petrol filling station.
Nii Adjei was in my house to visit my first cousin(Davis) on a family matter only three weeks ago.
He was young and obedient,he was sent there on a very important matter..... as customary demands.... he arrived very early about 4am.
His mother tells me that he is loved cooking so much that he was the undisputed chef of the house.
His grand mother enjoyed cooking in his company.....he chopped and cut the tomatoes, chillies, onoins,Garlic and spices to help.
His mother(LeKai) never staved and enjoyed his attention to making sure there was food always at home.
Nii Adjei was his mother's good friend. His first cousin (sylvester Lartey) who live with me is devastasted like all of us in the family.
Three scores (3x20 years) and ten (10years) is what we all understand and accept as our time lines for existence.
Nii Adjei only benefited from one score ....he was only 20 years old.
The Lord Giveth and the Lord Taketh.
May the almighty bless all those who died on wednesday night in the horrible inferno.
May Nii Adjei and all those who died ...... Soul Rest in Perfect Peace.
Amen!
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana.
